                 “I am a parent at Discovery Montessori in Loveland CO and am writing this letter because of my positive experiences there.  When I was first looking at pre-schools I was very discouraged.  I visited at least four "schools" where all the children did was run around in a chaotic environment that was more reminiscent of a rowdy daycare atmosphere than that of a learning one.  I was so pleased to come across Discovery Montessori and to find a place where my child would actually be learning and using his mind everyday rather than running around in an unruly pre-school.  I honestly felt very welcomed and at ease when first visiting Discovery, talking with Mrs. Lloyd who so obviously does what she loves and is passionate about, and observing the children using their hands and their minds in a calm class room.  I can't tell you how relieved I felt to find a place like this for my son.  I really wondered why anyone would want to pay for a pre-school that was just a glorified day care when they could send their child to a place like Discovery Montessori.

                 My husband and I have nothing but positive experiences this year and are proud to be re-enrolling our son for the next school year.  Both my mother and my husband have sat in to observe the class and both of them commented on how much fun the children have and how great it is to see them doing things for themselves and really becoming productive little people!”

                 “Our daughter, Claire, has been enrolled at Discovery Montessori for over four years.  She has thrived at Discovery and enjoyed the challenges of learning French, participating in the Equine program, and completing her Montessori "work" while attending school.  She has made wonderful friends with both fellow students and the staff of Discovery.  As parents, we have been thrilled to watch her confidence and eagerness to learn new things blossom.  We consider ourselves lucky to be part of such a wonderful facility.  We have felt so strongly about the benefits of Discovery that we kept her enrolled over the past year in the after noon kindergarten, even though she was also attending kindergarten at Frontier Academy in the mornings.  As a weekly parent helper in her classroom, I was amazed to see how much of the kindergarten curriculum she had already been exposed to earlier at Discovery.

                 The staff and owner have never shown anything but the highest regard for our child and her fellow students.  We know Claire is safe, both physically and emotionally, while at school, where she has always been treated with kindness and respect.

                 “In the time my child has attended the school, she has demonstrated abilities and aptitudes that are truly remarkable to me and which reinforce my decision to send her there. My child enjoys going to school. She has friends, she is confident and she is happy. My husband and I made an observation of the school in April of this year. We were both pleasantly surprised by what we saw and did not walk away with any concerns.

                 As a mother, I am always worried about my child and would like to protect her at all costs. I could certainly attempt to do this, but at what cost would it be to her? What opportunities or experiences would I deny her? When you entrust your child’s wellbeing to someone else you do so with a heavy heart. However, you try to find the most caring person, one that can make you feel at ease because they demonstrate concern and compassion and possess the same aspirations you do for your child. Ultimately, you have to come to a level of trust. In placing my child at Discovery Montessori, I had to decide whether I could trust Marla Lloyd to take care of her. I believed that I could then and I do so to this day.”

                 “My daughter has been attending the Loveland Montessori School for almost a year now. I have been very pleased with the progress my child has made since she’s started the Montessori program. When she started she wasn’t potty trained, she now is. She also has gotten very independent and prefers to do things on her own. Such as getting her own water, getting her own snacks, picking up her room without me asking and she loves helping me cook.

                  I feel these things have happened because of the Montessori program. It is obvious that they teach independence and this show in the confidence my child has. I have all the confidence in my child’s school and the teachers that are there teaching her. I have never questioned the care that she has received.”
